We're also very good at producing significant fee reductions in litigation. Litigation is one of those events where time and costs should be matched in most cases, assuming an equal playing field. We're often pitched against City law firms in litigation and we match them case for case, except that on average we're 30% to 40% cheaper in overall litigation, because we have in-built efficiencies  (..... and since our lawyers started in 1999, we have yet to lose a case! We've settled some but never lost one! although we're aware that statistically it is an increasingly difficult record to maintain.) (Our record is £15,600 +VAT in costs where the counterparty solicitor (who had also done much less work) had sought to charge £53,800+VAT - although unusual, we were awarded 98% of our costs because the Judge determined that "if anything, there is an undercharge in costs".
